Sustainability

Three decades of operating in protected ecosystems.

A short, honest version of what we do and what we are still working on.

We have operated guided journeys across Latin America since 1992. The lessons from that time inform how we run trips today: small groups, local hires, community partnerships, carbon accounting at the itinerary level.

Small groups by default

Multi-day tours cap at 12 travelers, day experiences at 14. We run extra departures instead of growing groups.

Local hires

Every country has a dedicated team that lives in the country. Guides, drivers and field staff are local. We do not import seasonal guides from headquarters.

Carbon accounting

Multi-day journeys include carbon offsets at the itinerary level via verified projects in Ecuador and Venezuela. The exact projects are listed on each booking confirmation.

What we are still working on

Single-supplier audits at scale, full chain-of-custody for transport, and a public annual impact report. We will publish the first version in 2027.
